ATL is the creation of Francisco Carrasco (Chile) and Freddy Perez (Costa Rica) who developed the concept and held the belief that such an organisation had a place within the cultural setting of Liverpool and the UK. Having both worked for many years in the field of cultural promotion and education, their knowledge, skills and determination have given ATL the acclaimed reputation it holds today, working closely with the Liverpool 08 team to celebrate the Capital of Culture status Liverpool has been granted. ATL prides itself in the educational work it delivers. High on its agenda is the desire to work in both the formal and informal education of children and young people in the region. ATL does this by introducing Latin American music, dance, the arts, culture, geography and history into the curriculum; incorporating language, creative writing, speaking and listening skills, thus focusing on the cultural and educational enrichment of its participants
