Born 1976, San Jose in Costa Rica DJ Muvelo (Freddy Perez) lived with his mother when he first developed his musical interest. Maria, DJ Muvelo’s mother was a passionate singer, one of his fondest memories is when together they would sing at home. When they were not singing Maria always had the radio playing, DJ Muvelo would sit listening for hours on end to music from all over the world. At age 14 DJ Muvelo started to visit local music clubs and his journey of music and dance began. Aged 16 DJ Muvelo began working in an amusement park enthused by the entertainment and live music, he developed relationships with artists. DJ Muvelo moved on to promoting artists increasing his knowledge of music and the industry. Internationally known for his enthusiastic passion and electrifying sets DJ Muvelo began his DJ career back in 1994. Headlining venues such as Hotel Corobici and Hotel Surres in San Jose DJ Muvelo quickly discovered his talent for pleasing the crowd. From this beginning DJ Muvelo went on to become an ambassador of Latin music. DJ Muvelo left Costa Rica to live in England in 1999. By 2000 he had started a Latin club night in Liverpool at Palm Oasis. Developing as an artist DJ Muvelo worked many venues including clubs, bars and restaurants. His reputation as a Latin DJ rapidly secured private and corporate work around Europe. Liverpool Based DJ Muvelo continued to promote Latin American culture through his music and passion. Currently DJ Muvelo tours the UK, Europe and Latin America. He currently holds residency at Liverpool’s Heart and Soul Restaurant.
